What’s New in the Titleist 913 Driver

All golfers like to stay current with their equipment. It is always good to know what products are upcoming from Titleist. There is one product soon to be released which will be turning heads and improving golf games. The Titleist 913 Driver is on the horizon and will soon be in stores for perusal, drooling and purchase. Unfortunately, this driver is not yet available on the market, and is still in the test drive phase on the PGA Tour. Until November when the driver is released to the public, you will have to watch a favorite professional try and be amazed at how this driver meets their individual needs.

The Titleist 913 Drivers (13 for model year 2013) replace the 910D2 and 910 D3. The new clubs will also come in D2 and D3 models, allowing golfers more choices in personal performance characteristics. You will still see the glossy black crown, and the pear shape, which is traditional. As with the adage “if it isn’t broke don’t fix it,” Titleist did not change the SureFit Tour adjustable system, which allows you to change the angle of the face and the club’s loft. You may be asking, so what has changed, this sounds like the same driver? The changes are not revolutionary, but continued development should improve accuracy.

The driver is made from the same titanium used in the popular 910 model, but with new technology it is more balanced and provides for enhanced stability. Titleist redesigned the face to allow the golfer to work the ball to the right or left somewhat more. The only visible difference you will notice is on the back where a small weight plate has been placed. The adjustable plate will allow the golfer the opportunity to adjust the swing weight to their own ability. Altering the weight will not affect the spin rate or the launch angle, so as to not generate a need to totally reinvent the swing.

The Titleist 913 Driver will not be available until November 2012 in your local pro shop. In the meantime, the driver will be tested and monitored on the tour. Titleist staffers will be on hand to adjust, monitor and assist with questions as they arise. By the time this driver is released, Titleist professionals will have perfected the weight adjustments and will be able to adjust yours to suit your swing. In the meantime, sit back and relax, your new driver awaits you in the fall. The anticipated cost of the Titleist 913 driver is around $399.
